Buckner Family Place is a multi-unit transitional housing program in Amarillo that provides safe, affordable housing to single parents and their children while the parents are enrolled in an educational or vocational program. Family Place, which provides on-site social services, also serves participants with physical disabilities who are involved in a rehabilitation program or are currently enrolled in an educational or vocational program.
The Buckner Family Place program is designed to strengthen families while moving them from government assistance and unsafe domestic situations in the workforce. The goal of Family Place is to assist single-parent families by providing safe, affordable housing, assistance with daycare and vocational training through local educational resources.
We help hurting families have access to the time, safety and resources they need to heal and to gain independence from welfare, domestic violence and child abuse. By breaking destructive cycles within families, Family Place gives hope to a new generation.
