Community Services
As the needs of children and families have changed throughout the years, our services and programs have changed also. It is Buckner’s strong history of caring for hurting individuals that enables us to continually expand our services to meet the constantly changing needs of our society.

Community Based Self-Sufficiency Program
Assists Homeless Youth
Buckner received a grant from HUD to provide rental assistance and case management services to youth between the ages of 18-21 who are homeless due to family conflict or circumstances.

The CBS-SP (Community Based Self-Sufficiency Program) is designed to provide the structure, support and care necessary to assist young adults in internalizing values and making responsible choices, which will prepare them for independence. The program serves single participants in Jefferson, Orange and Hardin Counties. Referrals for individuals can be made by organizations.

STAR Program
STAR (Services To At-Risk youth) is an intensive, short-term intervention program for youth, age 0 - 17, designed to support the child and the family as they develop coping skills and resources for managing problems. STAR works with families to manage problems such as school attendance, conflict resolution, runaway problems, and other family conflicts, all designed to keep the family together. Services are free of charge and available in Jefferson, Orange and Hardin Counties.
