Buckner Crisis Relief Center

All across the Dallas – Fort Worth metroplex there are people in need. People who are hungry, homeless and who need a helping hand to make a fresh start.

At the Buckner Crisis Relief Center, we provide that helping hand. We exist to aid individuals and families during a critical or traumatic time in their lives. Our aim is to extend relief while helping these people get back on their feet.

By providing food, clothing and furniture, our hope is to help these families achieve and maintain independence and self-sufficiency. Each year the Crisis Relief Center serves over 6,000 people by providing temporary assistance. Our referrals come from churches, social service agencies, and individuals. Most of the families we serve are single mothers with two or more children or elderly grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. These individuals turn to us in their state of loneliness, fear, and destitution.
Program Services:

Food Pantry
• For those in need of food assistance, we provide two large grocery bags of non-perishable and frozen foods. These include canned vegetables, fruit, dry cereal, bread, and various cold foods such as meat and vegetables.

Clothing Ministry
• Those that request help with clothing are given an appointment to shop in our clothing room. We provide adult and children clothing items including shoes, coats, dresses, jeans, and infant and toddler clothing.

Furniture Assistance
• Furniture and household items are given to those who may have lost possessions due to fire or other disaster or those who may have been homeless and are trying to set up a household. We provide bedroom and living room furniture, appliances, and fans in the summer, and space heaters in the winter.

Financial Aid
• We help families who are facing eviction from their home by providing rental assistance. We assist those in distress with utility bills, transportation, and prescription medication needs
