Lake Pointe Church Partnership Buckner Children and Family Services of North Texas and Lake Pointe Church began their partnership in August 2000 Lake Pointe Church wants to be not just a church in the community, but rather for the community. The partnership joins Buckner and Lake Pointe together in sharing God’s love. Buckner Children and Family Services, Lake Pointe Church Partnership Mission Statement: To reach the people of the Lake Ray Hubbard community through comprehensive and relevant social services, providing relief for physical, emotional, developmental, and spiritual needs. General Description of Services Provided: • Food Pantry – Provides food for families in crisis in the Lake Ray Hubbard area. • Habitat for Humanity - Partners with the Rockwall Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, the present goal is to begin building at least three new homes each year. • Job Connection – Helps job seekers get connected with information, resources and job opportunities through Job Connection workshops, LPU (Lake Pointe University), a resource room, a website and a data bank. • Kids Hope, USA – Provides adults to mentor one-on-one an at-risk elementary age child (K-5) one-hour per week at the child’s school. • Nursing Home Ministry – Serving residents at four local nursing homes (that average 550 people per month) daily events and activities each day of the week. • Pregnancy Resource Center – Offers support to unwed mother and encouraging them to choose life for their unborn child. • Wellness Ministry - Provides wellness focused services, answers to medical questions and knowledge of available resources to individuals and families in the Lake Ray Hubbard area and beyond, in a uniquely Christian manner. The partnership ministry teams served 7,189 unduplicated people in 2004.
