Dallas Women’s Group Raises $22,000 for Foster Care

DALLAS -- Members of Cheers for Charity, a local women’s group dedicated to enriching the lives of disadvantaged children, recently presented the staff of Buckner Children and Family Services and Buckner Foundation with a $22,000 to support the Buckner Foster Care program in North Texas.

At their annual Christmas party, held this year in the home of CFC secretary Tracey Castleman, the group raised the $22,000 and guests brought more than 850 items for children ranging in age from infants to 10 years old, including much-needed items such as clothing, diapers and educational toys for the children in Buckner Foster Care.

“Cheers for Charity has met such a vital need in our Foster Care program,” said Sandy Stephens, director of development for Buckner. “So many precious children will be helped thanks to their incredible generosity. We could not provide the protection, care and love that these children need without friends like Cheers for Charity.”
