East Texas Residents Receive the Gift of Sight Buckner Children and Family Services is the only organization providing free eye exams and glasses in East Texas, thanks to a generous gift by ConocoPhillips.   The company’s donation of $1,000 will allow dozens of citizens to receive the life-changing gift of sight, according to Kim Wright, Buckner community affairs.   “In 2007, we provided 14 individuals with eye exams and provided 21 pairs of eyeglasses,” she said. “This is a critical need for many people in our community and we are pleased to offer this service.”   In the first three months of 2008, Buckner filled three prescriptions and provided three people with new eyeglasses.
