PAL: Preparation for Adult Living
PAL services are required to be provided to all youth 16 and older in foster care to assist them in preparing for adult living.

Through PAL, teens have opportunities to participate in specific group or individual training sessions including guest speakers, field trips, and discussion topics on:

Living skills
• Money management
• Housing and transportation
• Personal skills
• Health
• Planning for the future

PAL helps teens complete their educational plans and obtain a high school diploma or their GED. PAL provides a tuition waiver letter for those teens who desire to further their education at a state funded college or university. Taking advantage of this letter between the ages of 18 and 21 ensures all tuition and fees paid in full for a lifetime.

Additional services may be provided if funding is available and all requirements are completed. These include:
• Travel incentive to attend PAL training
• Driver’s Education
• GED prep classes and testing fees
• SAT and ACT prep classes and testing fees
• Transitional Living Allowance of $1000
