Mission Statement: Foster care is not a lifetime commitment to a child; rather, it is a commitment to be meaningful in a child’s lifetime. Buckner Foster Care Provides: • Family care for abused or neglected children and teenagers • Specialized therapeutic homes for child abuse victims with emotional and behavioral problems • Temporary care for children and teenagers whose parents are suffering serious health or financial difficulties Foster Children: • Range in age from birth-17 • Need security, guidance and structure in their lives • Require love, support, nurturing and attention Buckner Foster Parents: • Are emotionally and financially secure • Adhere to Christian principles • Work as team members to meet the needs of foster children • Possess at least a high school diploma or GED • Participate in orientation and engage in on-going training • Receive monthly reimbursement to help cover the added expenses of each foster child Buckner Children and Family Services: Buckner Foster Care is a department of Buckner Children and Family Services in Midland, which is dedicated to the healing and restoration of children and families. Buckner Foster Care provides support: • Our knowledge of the system. • We can answer questions when court cases are confusing or need explanation. • We provide in-house therapy when needed. • We provide training for the challenges foster and adoptive parenting incorporates.
